FUND YOUR AMP EXPERIENCE WITH THE BC EMPLOYER TRAINING GRANT!
Did you know that there is government funding available to support you with upskilling the healthcare providers in your employ?
With the BC Employer Training Grant, employers can apply as often as they need and receive 80 per cent of the cost of training up to $10,000 per employee, with a maximum annual amount per employer of $300,000.
We encourage BC-based health care providers to ask your employer to submit an application to the BC Employer Training Grant for an upcoming AMP Healthcare Education Course.

HOW DO I APPLY?
WorkBC outlines 6 simple steps for employers to complete the application process:
Create a Business BCeID account.
Select the training that will meet the needs of your staff.
Use the Business BCeID account to complete the online application through the ETG’s Skills Training Grants System*
Receive decision
Begin training
Submit a reimbursement claim

WHAT TYPES OF TRAINING ARE ELIGIBLE?
According to WorkBC, training that is eligible for funding from the BC Employer Training Grant must “result in increased job security or a better job* for a current employee once training is completed, or a job for an unemployed person.”
A “better job” is defined as:
Increased pay
Promotion or advancement to another position
Move from part-time to full-time employment
Move from temporary/casual/seasonal employment to permanent employment
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOUR APPLICATION?
Employers must indicate on their application how the training will allow their staff to more effectively meet the needs of their clients and referrers to the health care business in order to improve employability and/or advance within the healthcare business.
WHAT TYPES OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES ARE INELIGIBLE?
The BC Employer Training Grant does not fund the following types of professional development activities:
Consulting
Coaching
Mentorships
Trade shows
Annual meetings
Networking
Seminars
Conferences
Paid practicums
***Most AMP Healthcare Education Courses and AMP Knowledge Projects (with the exception of our courses of OT & PT Mentorship) ARE ELIGIBLE for funding application***

WHAT INFORMATION WILL I NEED FOR MY APPLICATION?
The application will ask you for information about the PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY, including:
Course dates
Course title and costs
Course objectives, delivery methods, and assessment methods
Total training hours
Intended audience
You will be able to find all of this information on AMP Healthcare Education’s course listing.

Finally, you will be asked to identify a couple of Alternative Training Providers for the same or similar courses and indicate why you chose AMP Healthcare Education!

Looking at the amount of learning (contact hours), support available within this course, and/or the expertise of the instructors, this course promises to deliver high quality learning for comparable prices to competitors (COST EFFECTIVENESS!)
The training is evidence-informed and focused on the specific skills that we need and want our employers to develop. (VALIDITY!)
AMP has been hosting and teaching leading edge courses for the past 8 years. Additionally, we have had employees and colleagues take this course or other courses with this provider in the past with fantastic reviews regarding the learning experience and ability to translate new skills into practice. (RELIABILITY & REPUTATION!)
AMP’s Knowledge Project courses are specifically designed to provide learners with the opportunity to practice and consolidate new knowledge and skills. We spread out learning over the course of a month or more and incorporate structured reflection, regular prompting, high frequency touch points, and a chance to, again and again, engage with the material and transfer it to clinical practice while being supported by course facilitators.
